FAQ
Adaptogenic Greens prioritizes quality over an excessively large number of ingredients, incorporating Canadian-grown organic leafy greens, the finest spirulina and lemna, along with carefully sourced functional roots and mushroom extracts for a nutrient-rich blend that you can trust through and through.
All ingredients in this blend are third party lab tested to ensure safety and purity.
It’s also vegan and paleo-friendly, gluten, dairy, soy, nut and peanut free, with no artificial flavours, colours, or sweeteners, making it a versatile option for various dietary preferences.
Many greens powders incorporate a few strains of probiotics, claiming this is beneficial.
However, this can actually be detrimental to your gut and overall health, as a few select strains of probiotics can come to dominate what would have otherwise been a highly diverse microbiome, home to billions of strains of beneficial bacteria.
This “crowding out” effect has been well documented in research. This is why at Landish we’re all about prebiotics and not probiotics.
Fungal beta glucans in functional mushrooms and the polysaccharides in spirulina are just two examples of prebiotics that will promote a diverse and resilient microbiota.
This blend is packed with phytonutrients and antioxidants, along with naturally occurring polysaccharide prebiotics. Regular consumption can improve energy, digestion, immunity, mood, and overall wellness.
The short answer is that this spirulina is of higher quality, cleaner and safer than spirulina labelled as “organic”—and it’s grown under California’s world-leading environmental protection standards.
Our spirulina is organic in all regards (e.g. free of pesticides and herbicides and Non-GMO Project Verified) except one: its use of a water-soluble form of nitrogen, a key nutrient for plants and microalgae.
“Organic” spirulina uses compost and animal by-products (manure, feathers, blood, bone, etc.) as sources of nitrogen, presenting significant potential for pathogens and heavy metals.
Our partner farm’s use of pond liners and closed loop water systems eliminates any risk of nitrogen runoff (unlike in conventional crop farming), allowing us to protect the environment while also offering the cleanest, safest spirulina that is also animal-free.
While the body's primary detoxification system consists mainly of the liver and kidneys constantly filtering the bloodstream and working to neutralize and eliminate toxins from the body, non-irradiated, low temperature dehydrated leafy greens, grasses, and microalgae help to support this natural process in a secondary phase thanks to their high concentration of antioxidants.
A by-product of the detox process is free radicals. The body requires plenty of antioxidants to neutralize free-radicals, as excess amounts can lead to oxidative damage, which has been shown to contribute to aging and age-related diseases.
