    Expert advice

“Turmeric is commonly used in Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian food and has a long history of use in traditional medicine, known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. The primary component, curcumin, is responsible for the majority of its health benefits—including benefits related to slowing down the aging process, as well as possibly preventing Alzheimer’s.

To reach the amounts shown to offer these benefits, an occasional curry may not be enough—fermented powder is the perfect way to obtain maximum benefits. Furthermore, the compound piperine, found in black pepper, will help make the turmeric more bioavailable!

Ginger, a popular remedy for upset stomachs and nausea, as well as easing a cold, has been used in cooking and medicine since ancient times. It has a multitude of healthful properties including antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and not to mention its antioxidant profile, which helps your body to fight off chronic disease, as well as promoting healthy aging.

Ashwagandha has been used for thousands of years within herbal medicine to reduce stress and anxiety, to support reproductive health, and to increase energy and stamina. Recent studies have even shown that it can help to reduce depression symptoms. An overall powerhouse of health benefits.”

    Cup of savoury comfort!

I love the Tumeric Ginger Latte! My favourite way to have it is in hot almond coconut milk after coming in from a winter hike. It easily mixes with a hand whisk. I've also added it to instant hot chocolate! I do have some serious ankle and shoulder inflammation so I'll give it a month or more to see if I get some relief.
